Hanoi Style Beef Phở

When talking about Vietnamese cuisine, we have to talk about phở. Phở originates from northern Vietnam. Hanoi is located in the north and is the cradle of Vietnamese cuisine. Therefore, to enjoy authentic phở, it must be Hanoi phở.

Please note that northern phở is very different from southern phở. Northern phở broth has a mild taste, flavored with beef, onions, and toasted ginger. Meanwhile, southern phở broth has a lot of sugar and a stronger taste. When eating northern phở, you usually only serve a piece of lemon or garlic vinegar, while southern phở is often served with a plate of vegetables (bean sprouts, coriander, basil…).
